Forest Fairy poetry

You know we could run away

I’d throw rocks at your window panes

We could abandon countless nights to stargaze

Warm our hands by a fires warm blaze

Why don’t we run to the forest

Live there forever

It’d be just like a fairytale but the best

Why don’t we go find a castle

And cover it with roses

Eat enchanted apples

And be forgotten by the world

Why don’t we retreat into folklore

Why don’t we hide in our fantasies

Leave our world through a fae door

And we would live there forevermore.

We could run barefoot through fields of flowers

Be isolated by our choice

We could sleep in forgotten bowers

Never to be discovered by an outside voice

Why don’t we run to the woods

Swim in starlit waterfalls

We’d be just like the characters in your books

We could dive for treasure by the falls.

Why don’t we retreat into folklore

Why don’t we hide in our fantasies

Leave our world through a fae door

And live there forevermore.
